House in Tresses
The request for a low-cost house for a family of five resulted in a compact space with a square plan and one upper storey, with a single opening on each side. Each oversized opening frames an element of the landscape: the line of the ridge, the bell-tower, the backlit silhouettes of the large trees to the west, and the road linking it to the village. Forming a boundary between noise and calm, between the family and the necessary privacy of the individual, a thick internal wall creates storage and allows for extra furniture to be kept to a minimum.
